New this season, we invite you to visit the picturesque villages of the Solea Valley. Where evidence of Byzantine culture and unsurpassed, truly amazing paintings have survived to this day.
Meniko's first stop is a visit to the Church of St. Cyprian and Ustinia, /XIII century/, protection from evil spirits, witchcraft and corruption, source, miraculous icon.
Second stop - Church of the Mother of God Asinu / XII century / Nikitari. It is considered a world cultural heritage and is included in the list of ten churches in the Troodos region that are protected by UNESCO. Not far from it, at an altitude of 667 meters above sea level, lies another picturesque village of Kakopetria. A leisurely walk through the old village will fill your soul with peace and tranquility; fresh mountain air and the sound of mountain streams will help you temporarily forget about the everyday hustle and bustle. Small streets paved with bricks, old wooden shutters of houses that look like exhibits of an ethnographic museum, benches with pottery and jars of “glika tou shoe polish” - sweetness from a spoon - will remind you years later of Cyprus.
Among the ancient houses of amazing architecture, you will have free time to have lunch or take a photo session.
On the way back we will visit the Church of St. Nicholas tis Stegis - Nicholas of the Intercession /XI century/ Kakopetria.
